When people think of spring break destinations, Buffalo, NY probably isn’t first on the list. However, In Panamá it is the hottest time of the year, and we were excited to cool off. Plus, we can never miss an opportunity to visit the grandparents.
We only had a week, but we fit in a lot of our favorites like the Strong Museum. We also got to foster Asher’s love of hockey by going ice skating and seeing a Rochester Americans hockey game.
It was also the week before Easter so we got to do all the fun traditions like coloring eggs.
Of course we also indulged in Buffalo delicacies. These boys skip the Buffalo wings and go right for Ted’s hot dogs and Paula’s donuts.
But most importantly, the boys got haircuts. They resist hair cuts, but in our climate, beach conditions and lice rampant environment, it really isn’t ideal for them to have long hair. If it was up to me, we would keep it buzzed- but they have ver specific ideas of how it should look. They no longer want to go to barbers- only stylists. For inspiration, AJC brought a picture of his favorite super hero- Captain America. Unfortunately, the style was a bit hard to achieve because AJC and I took kitchen scissors and hacked his bangs off one night when he couldn’t stand them in his face. Luckily the stylist could work miracles. Here’s the amazing before and after transformations.
Wow, Chris Evans has some competition! Sadly, a week is way too short when you are having fun and spending time with family. Soon, it was time to return home and finish out the school year. Buffalo- we’ll be back for our summer adventure!
We returned home to Panamá just in time for Easter. The Easter bunny was very generous and brought the boys their wish list. For AJC it was a complete kit set of his favorite fútbol player-Kilian Mbappe. For PJC- the ugliest stuffed animals ever from his favorite video game, Doors.
It was too hard to say good-bye at the end of this spring break, because a big trip was just around the corner. In three weeks, we would be meeting the whole family in the most magical place… hint, hint!
