Christmas 2023

And just like that… it’s the best time of the year! Nothing makes me happy like spending Christmas with my family and creating tons of magic for the kids.

Of course, in this house Christmas starts December 1st. The kids wake up to the house fully decorated and their little buddy, Snowflake has returned. It thought now that the kids have a better understanding of “Christmas magic” that Buddy could retire, but they made it clear that they still expected his presence (and little presents). They also wanted to take an active role and plan Snowflake magic for their little cousins.

We traveled to Raleigh to spend Christmas with my side and got to stay in my parents new house. As always my Aunt Heidi had a full itinerary of Christmas fun everyday leading up to the big day.

Along with tradition, we also celebrated our North Pole breakfast on Christmas Eve, this year with a ginger bread theme.

On the big day, we went to Heidi’s house to the big present reveal. These lucky boys finally received an Xbox after begging for two years. At least that was AJC’s favorite, but PJC was most excited for his new tree swing which has proved to be the best purchase. He uses it everyday to create new tricks and get his daily dose of adrenaline. I have to say, I haven’t hated the Xbox as much as I expected. It has been a great way for AJC and BC to bind whole playing NBA2K. Plus it’s been than him mindlessly watching YouTube videos in the evening.

After Christmas, we spent most of our time in parks, playground, and just hanging with the family. It was just what holidays are supposed to be- plenty of fun together. For New Years we continued our new tradition of writing a year in review and helping the kids learn about goals. Then we tried to trick them into doing a countdown at 9:00 pm, but AJC wasn’t buying it.

On New Year’s Day, we flew home. It’s always so hard to close the chapter on the joy filled holidays, but we look forward to all 2024 will bring.
